3 Ways to Spring Clean Your Living Room

As a mom, I always wish for our house to be clean and tidy. But as my dad used to say “ You can wish in one and and spit in the other and see which one fills up the fastest.” Needless to say having a clean house and raising a family is NOT easy. (Raise your hand if you agree with me.)

Thankfully, essential oils helped me find cleaning fun, enjoyable and SAFE!. I believe that it is important to take the necessary precautions to ensure our home is safe from Do you know how many  harmful toxins are in normal cleaning products???

For today’s “Do you doTERRA daily?” I want to focus on how to keep your  living room clean and fresh using essential oils.

Why Diffuse Essential Oils?

One way to de-funkify your living room naturally is to diffuse essential oils. I’m a mom of 4 grown children. My 2 youngest boys still live at home and we have 2 large dogs, our house can sometimes be pretty funky. SO…I’m a huge fan of diffusing essential oils daily to dispel unwanted odors in my home and purify the air. Plus…it’s a 100% chemical-free way to keep my family safe. Who wouldn’t love this?

An essential oil diffuser is a MUST HAVE in my home!! In fact I have one in almost every room of my house.  doTERRA offers different types of diffusers. Click this to check them out. Confused which essential oil diffuser should you use? Feel free to email me, I can help you!

Here are some AMAZING diffuser blend you might want to try:

3 drops Purify

2 drops Pink Pepper

1 drop Green Mandarin

3 drops Lemon

3 drops Green Mandarin

2 drops Juniper Berry

3 drops Siberian Fir

3 drops Lemon

1 drop Cypress

2 drops Eucalyptus

2 drops Lemon

1 drop Thyme

DIY Carpet Cleaner

I have 2 dogs named Bandit and Maisie. As much as I love them I really don’t love how they smell, especially when they have spent most of the day outside. Then they come in and roll around on my carpet. Good thing they are cute!! Better thing… I have an easy DIY carpet cleaner and deodorizer that works on tough messes and dirty carpets.

Ingredients

2 cups (500 ml) baking soda

10 drops essential oil

Instructions

Add essential oil to baking soda and stir until well combined.

Sprinkle mixture over the carpet.

Let rest for one to two hours. Vacuum.

Store remaining baking soda in an airtight container for future use.

Essential Oil Recommendations:

Purify, Eucalyptus, Lavender, Lemongrass

See, I told you it was easy!

P.S. These nontoxic cleaners can also be used to remove other types of stains like sauces and coffee.

Making The Couch and Pillows Cleaner and Fresher

Refresh your couch and pillow by combining the following in a small bowl:

40ml of boiled water slighted cooled

Protect yourself from the gross

Do you Travel? If you do then this is a MUST! Actually, if you walk out your door and interact with people then this is a must!

Today’s “Do you dōTERRA daily” is brought to you by dōTERRA’s OnGuard Hand Sanitizing Mist. I’m here in Las Vegas celebrating my hubby’s 50th birthday and we are celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary (a little early).

This place is LOUD…and to be honest a bit gross. So why are we here of all places? Well, we are renewing our vows…at an Elvis wedding chapel. There will be pics tomorrow!

Airports are gross, planes are gross, bathrooms are gross…get where I’m going here? You don’t know who has been touching, sneezing or coughing on the thing that you are about to touch.

First thing I did when I got on the plane was to spray down my tray. (Isn’t my honey cute??)

My go-to used to be store bought hand sanitizer, I bought the stuff by the gallons. (you tend to do that when you have an immune compromised kid) Then I learned about all the toxins that are in that stuff. If you want to read more about that check out this article.

So your quick “Do you dōTERRA daily” switch is to use dōTERRA’s OnGuard Hand Sanitizing Mist.
