Do you know what you are putting on your skin?

Don’t you just love this time of year! I do, I love the hustle and bustle of it all and I REALLY love all the sales! I love a good deal. Today’s “Do you dōTERRA daily?” is all about that good deal that really isn’t a good deal.

The quick fix, without reading all of the science, is to switch to doTERRA’s unscented lotion. The great thing about this lotion is you get to pick what scent you want! I love mixing different Essential Oils in with this unscented lotion to come up with a unique scent that I can change as the mood hits me. *The important thing to remember is that a little EO goes a long way!* 1-2 drops is more than enough.

Don’t like the way that lotion feels, no problem just add a few drops of EO’s to some fractionated coconut oil.

Now this looks like a great holiday gift…right? Read on my friend.

Please understand that chemicals disrupt your body’s major organ functions and your endocrine system.⚠️

😐These types of lotions, body washes, and body sprays are in gift sets sold in all the major stores. These sets target not only adults but also young girls who are already suffering from an out of balance hormone system. You can find hundreds of toxic ingredients in lotions, bathbombs, makeup and perfumes.

Our skin is our largest organ. The ingredients in these products get absorbed into our bloodstream within 26 seconds, & even quicker for kiddos who will absorb up to 50% more than an adult would. 👎🏼Toxic exposures will also put a child at higher risk for disease(s) later in life.

I know those beautiful gift sets & marketing can reel you in, but please watch out for yourself & your loved ones! ❤️

☝🏻So many ingredients to avoid…

🚫Butylene Glycol: found in anti-freeze & break & hydraulic fluid. It can cause an increased skin reaction in people with sensitive skin. It can also be called Propylene Glycol.

🚫Isopropyl Alchohol: may cause premature aging of skin. Also found in anti-freeze. It strips skin of natural acid mantle, promoting growth of bacteria. It can cause headaches, flushed skin, dizziness, nausea & vomiting, & mental depression according to A Consumer’s Dictionary of Cosmetic Ingredients.

🚫Tetrasodium EDTA: contains formaldehyde & a known skin & lung irritant

🚫BHT: this fragrance has been linked to organ system toxicity & a known skin, eye, & lung irritant

🚫Disodium EDTA: neurotoxin linked to brain damage & liver changes in animals

🚫Diazolidinyl Urea: this chemical releases formaldehyde into your body. Mayo Clinic says formaldehyde can irritate the respiratory system, cause skin reactions, trigger heart palpations, immune system toxicity, & cancer in humans. Exposure may cause joint pain, depression, headaches, dizziness, loss of sleep, chronic fatigue, ear infections, allergies, & chest pains. It can also trigger asthma & aggravate colds! Formaldehyde is a known carcinogen found in Johnson and Johnson baby care products, skincare, antiperspirants, & hair dyes.

🚫Methylparaben & Propylparaben: directly linked to breast cancer. In mice it had weak estrogenic effects which caused damage to the sperm formation in the testes. It may contribute to sterility in males, hormone imbalances in females, and cause early puberty. A relative of methylparaben, sodium methylparaben has been banned in the E.U. Some other common names for paraben’s are ethyl-, butyl-, & isobutyl- all ending with paraben. These do not have to be labeled, so sometimes companies will not list within ingredients panel.

🚫Ceterareth-20: ENHANCES the absorption of ALL above chemicals

🤓I know you think they smell good, but they really are so bad for you. Once you stop using these products your body will begin to detox these harmful ingredients. I promise you won’t miss them because they really won’t smell that great to you anymore when you experience products scented with natural (real) fragrance. We can do better ladies. It’s all up to us to make better choices. 💪🏼

I forgot to mention that we have 2 other AMAZING lotions. Rose and Citrus Bliss
